Meet Gil

 

 

Gil Johnson and his family have called Youngsville, NC home for more than 24 years. A native of eastern North Carolina and proud product of North Carolina Public Schools, Gil worked in the textile industry before beginning a 26 year career as an air traffic controller.

He has always been active in community and school issues. Gil has served in various leadership roles in Parent-Teacher organizations and civic groups, including the Youngsville Optimist Club and the Youngsville Parks and Recreation Department. He has been a member of the Franklin County Board of Education since 2005 including two years as Vice-Chair and four years as Chair. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Feeding Franklin, Inc. and the Franklin County Education Foundation.

Gil and his wife of 31 years, Kim, have three children and seven grandchildren.
